Amelia Island Photography . . .
and some of my other favorites from The Island
Restaurants
The food is some of the best I have ever had. Paired with excellent wine choices, I always leave wanting more.
To try: shrimp and grits appetizer
Located on 5th Street in downtown Fernandina
Burlingame
This restaurant is the nicest, and most expensive on the island, but in my opinion, it is worth it! The service is always excellent and the food is just delicious.
To Try: chef selection- always fun!
Located on the south end of the island inside the Ritz Carlton
Salt
This is a cafe/bistro/deli located within the plantation. It is great for families because the kids can run around outside and the staff will give you bread to feed the turtles and fish in the little pond the restaurant overlooks.
To Try: Tuna Melt...seriously amazing
Located on the south end of the island within the plantation
Marche Burette
This restaurant has delicious food, and is very versatile; sit inside for a more formal feel, or outside for a more casual feel with a view of the ocean.
To Try: plantain chips

Coast
Drinks and entertainment
With an amazing view of the intercoastal waterway, it's a relazing way to enjoy a cocktail or two at the end of your busy vacation day.
Located downtown at the marina
Brett's Waterway Cafe
I know this place seems to come up a lot, but they have done such an amazing job catering to the carefree Island lifestyle! With great drinks and a live band Friday and Saturday nights, you can't go wrong here!

The Ritz
The Omni also has a great place to relax, have fun and have few cocktails. With a huge family pool, splash pad and an adults-only infinity pool, there's something for everyone here!

The Omni
This restaurant/bar has inside and outside seating, amazing views of the ocean and a really fun Bahamas-feeling outdoor bar area. Even better- a playground right in the center of it all! Super fun for the kids, but be prepared for sandy munchkins!
Located at the corner of Sadler and A1A
Sliders
This is a fun place for the whole family. It has a great playground for the kids (it gets pretty hot during the summer), mini golf, a skateboard park and a great little beach restaurant and bar, Sandy Bottoms.
Located at the corner of Atlantic and A1A
Main Beach
This is one of our favorite places to to expend some energy! It has a beautiful, shaded playground, a small soccerfield with goals, a small basketbal court, bathrooms, a lookout building and the best part...it is right on the Marsh! Amazing boardwalks extend far out into the marsh, letting you experience breath-taking views of the water and wildlife. This park is only accessable to those booking through the Plantation.
