Gabrielle's Cake Smash Bash!

I had the honor of being invited to shoot this little cuties birthday party and Cake Smash! Luckily, her pre-birthday nap lasted a bit longer than usual, so she woke up in a primo mood for some camera time! She was not shy at all when I introduced myself and my camera to her. She smiled and reached out for the heavy, black, foreign "toy" and smiled when i let her get her little mitts on it for a quick second. So precious was she that I had to start shooting right away! Throughout the shoot she continued to impress me...I could tell she was no newbie to being photographed (thanks, Mom and Dad)! Mom and Dad were also so natural in front of the camera that this two hour session was such a delight! As we moved outside for the highly anticipated Cake Smash, we debated locations and Mom gussied up her little sweetie. We decided to do the shoot on their dock and I am so pleased we did! At first, Gabrielle wasn't sure about the mess that was happening on her delicate fingers, but after Daddy stuck a finger full of cake in her mouth all of that hesitation FLEW right out the window! From then on, it was hard to stop clicking that button because every expression on that cake-decorated face was just priceless. As we redirected her crawl down the boardwalk, her extended family started to meander our way. We snapped some lovely pictures of the entire family in front of the brand new house in which all eighteen of them spent their Christmas vacation! Finally, Gabreille, her sister, Valentina, and Mom and Dad all walked toward the swing set for some fun family pictures. It was so much fun capturing this family's memories.
